2D LOCATION

Isle of Arran

The first Kong Mountain Marathon will be held on the Isle of Arran, Scotland.

We strongly recommend you make your way to Arran on the Friday. The Calmac ferry to Arran leaves from the mainland at Ardrossan and the crossing takes about an hour. There is a good sized car park (500 places) near the Ferry (Prices in 2020/21 were £13 for 72 hours, £17 for 96 hours). There should be sufficient places to park at that time of the year according to the owner, but it is a public car park and we cannot guarantee a place. Please car share wherever possible. Please note that Ardrossan has a good train connection from Glasgow.

Please book your ferry crossing to Arran directly from the Calmac website – click here. The crossing from Ardrossan to Brodick is £8.40 for return foot passenger tickets. The Summer schedule is available on the Calmac site HERE. We recommend you make your Ferry crossing booking early to avoid disappointment. BOOK NOW!

Registration and the event centre is in Brodick at the Brodick Public Hall, A841, Brodick, KA27 8DL opposite the Arran Sports Association, Ormidale Park, A841, Brodick, KA27 8DL where the campsite for the Friday night will be.

NO parking is available and as a consequence we are requesting runners wherever possible to make their way to Arran as a foot passenger i.e. without a car. The event centre is within easy walking distance from the ferry terminal in Brodick (12 mins walking).

The event centre has sports fields attached where we have arranged for you to camp on the Friday night. You can leave your tent on the sports field with any equipment you do not need during the race. The camping field needs to be clear by Sunday 6 pm.
